Hot 100 Update

My update for the Hot 100 Challenge:

1.  Lose 15-plus pounds by the end of the year / end of the challenge.  I'm down a total of 19 pounds so far (4 since the start of the challenge).  So I have 11 to go to hit 15 additional pounds lost by the end of the challenge, which will be a total of 30.  I can make it!

2.  Get more sleep.  Nope, not even close. (yawn)

3.  Start taking vitamins.  I still choke down a fistful of supplements daily, and I've now added two more for my joints.  (Old lady pills.)

4.  Make a plan for eating and exercising over the holidays and stick to it.  Halloween is fast approaching, which in the past has meant hoarding candy and eating massive amounts of it before the trick-or-treaters even got to the door.  This year I'm working out new strategies for this fall holiday and beyond.

Happy Weekend, everyone!

  1. It sounds like you are doing good on the Hot 100 Challenge. I need to start taking vitamins to maybe that would help with my energy level.
I asked for a lower fat milkshake recipe on my blog the other day and you left me a comment about a shake you fix and I made it today and I have to say it is so good and its definitely going to help when I'm craving the real thing. Thank you so much. Do you mind if I include this recipe on my blog and of course give you full credit for it? This could help alot of other bloggers with their sweet cravings and its not really bad for you at all.

  4. Christina - Glad you liked the shake. I think it's really good, and I'd be happy for you to share it with your readers. After I gave you that, I started thinking about it and will probably post it on mine too. Gotta share the good stuff, right?

Everyone - Thanks for your comments!

  5. Ah Yeah, post the shake please :)
Great job on the challenge! Sometimes I feel like that's all I do is shove supplements down my throat.

  8. You know....there is a lot of science behind the link between sleep deprivation and obesity. When you don't sleep, the hormones in your brain that promote fat retention increase. Soooo....if you want #1 to go faster, you've got to do #2. Great job on the loss! Here's to another great week next week.

  9. Okay, everyone, the doc says get more sleep to lose more weight. 'Nuff said! Thank you, Dr. F. Really, I think your comment did the trick. I was inspired to go to bed at a decent hour last night (Saturday night, no less!). Great input!

  11. You are doing so well with your weight loss goal! I feel you on the sleep thing--I have had that as a goal for the past two years. Sometimes I wish we didn't need sleep b/c we could get so much more done but then we'd probably be required to work 16 hour days and still get paid the same amount!
